Axis Integration

Customers with Axis cameras can easily get Plate Recognizer LPR! Just follow the steps below:

Configure Object Analytics in Axis Camera

Before you begin, please make sure that the Axis camera clock is set up properly to the current time.

We recommend reading about AXIS Object Analytics.

Step 1.1. Find the IP address for the Axis camera using this IP Utility Tool.

Step 1.2. Log in to the Axis camera web server page with the IP address.

Step 1.3. Go to the Apps tab and click to open Axis Object Analytics app. If this is not already installed, you can download and install the app from the Axis website using the +Add app option.

Step 1.4. Click the Open button. This window appears:

Step 1.5. Create a New scenario. Choose Object in Area (you may also try Line crossing or other) and then select all vehicle types.

Step 1.6. Set the detection area of interest and exclusions. Object analytics sends an image as soon as the car enters the detection area, so make sure it is set up correctly.

Step 1.7. Once the scenario is set up, give it a descriptive name, like Cars Only, and close the new tab.

NOTE: If your camera does not support Object Analytics App, you may try using AXIS Video Motion Detection instead. However, this will greatly increase the amount of images sent to the Plate Recognizer

Step 2.2.1. Click on Recipients and add a new Recipient. This is the endpoint that will receive the image when a vehicle is detected. Choose Type: HTTPS.

Copy/paste the code below into URL field. Make sure to change the blue terms below with your information.

URL: api.platerecognizer.com/v1/plate-reader-img/?Token=TOKEN&camera_id=YOUR_CAMERA_ID&regions=XX&mmc=true

  1. Get MY_TOKEN from Plate Rec Account Page.
